That's a bit awkward!

The other night I sat up with my parents to watch the premiere of Channel 10's new series 'Trippin Over.' At the end of the episode, there was quite a raunchy sex scene which would make anyone blush - especially when your parents were sitting right next to you.

I know we're all adults here but watching sex scenes with your parents is probably one of the most awkward situations you will ever experience. For me, I feel like I am doing something really wrong and dirty, feeling that my parents think less of me for watching such filth! But hey, I bet they saw worse in their day!

Another occasion I was watching Sex and the City - the episode where the girls go to a day spa and everyone is walking around naked. My Dad so happened to walk through the lounge room when I was watching it and I have never seen someone's eyes pop out of their head as his did. He questioned what I was watching and then sat down and continued to watch the naked girls walking around. He had such a smile on his face, I felt repulsed. As if I wanted to see my Dad get his rocks off watching my favorite show.

I don't know whether there should be a ban on watching shows of a sexual nature with your parents - yes, a stupid idea but how do you recover from such an embarrassing situation?

Have you ever had to sit through a raunchy show or move with your folks? If so, how did you deal with the awkwardness?

Dating Outrage!

A Current Affair featured a story this week that completely outraged not only the dating community but the entire Australian society.

It involved a dating site called ‘Beautiful People’ – check it out at http://au.beautifulpeople.net

As they describe themselves they are ‘an online community whose purpose is to create relationships, both private and professional, between people who because of their attractive appearance and personal qualities stand out from the majority.’ In laymen’s terms it is a dating site for ONLY beautiful people!

But who decides if you’re beautiful or not? Basically to apply to this dating site, you have to submit of photo of yourself. Over a 72 hour period the members of the site vote on whether you are good looking enough to be part of the site. If not, you’re basically branded ugly and not allowed to meet fellow daters.

What sort of message is this sending to people – if you’re ugly don’t bother applying? It’s as shallow as Posh Spice!

It’s also bullying - it’s like being back in the school yard and if you don’t make the cut, you get a mocking!!!

Dating is suppose to be about having fun and MOST dating sites provide this but what on earth does Beautiful People provide – bullying, mockery, discrimination, shallowness?

Considering 60,000 people in the world are connected to this website perhaps we are turning into shallow and vein people only wanting to meet and date those of our own standards?

But aren’t we all beautiful in our own way?

The Girl Pash

THE GIRL PASH

I've watched a bit of porn in my time - however not by choice (sorry lads). It never failed to amaze me that at every uni party, there was always one person who would bring along their porn collection.

Work Place Relationships - is it a good idea?

As we spend a majority of our years at work, there’s no wonder that most of us at some time or another are confronted with this notion of a work place relationship or even fling? It may be a co worker, the manager or even the big boss of the company. As much as we sometimes think its all innocent and a bit of harmless fun, it always seems to end in tears.

Do you know how to FLIRT?

Most people I hope have been on the dating scene! Well, remember the first time you meet someone and the ways you flirt with each other; the signals you give off when you perhaps may like the other person?

This morning on the train, I watched two 20 somethings flirt their backsides off and it made me giggle the kind of things that they would do:
