Date Gal - Love, Sex and Relationships

Dating Do's and Dont' s for Women

Believe it or not, women do need help when it comes to dating as well - whether they lack confidence, afraid of being rejected or just have little knowledge when it comes to men.

Some of the tips for men (see Dating Do's and Don'ts for Blokes previous) relate to women as well so make sure you have a read through those - but here are a couple more to help you be the Dating Queen.

DATING DO'S
- Be approachable! Men always complain they never talk to women who look like ice maidens. Always look friendly and be open to conversation with the man. Never act too good for him or that he is below you. You wouldn't like to be treated that way and neither do they

- Always be on time for your first date. As much as we like to think being fashionable late is cool, it's plain rude. Be on time, give a quick kiss on the cheek and start the night to remember! And turn off that mobile phone!

- Be confident; dress the way you feel comfortable and you'll ooze confidence. Men love this. Smile, flick you hair, put your head to the side when you're talking - do all those little things that make you look confident and cute. He'll love it!

- If you want to, do make the first move. 95% of men love it when women are confident enough to make the first move. So if there is real chemistry and you want to kiss him - go for it!!! You'll be pleasantly surprised

- If you're not interested in him after a few dates, be honest and be gracious about it. Everyone gets rejected and he will understand. Why get into something you know is going to lead no where - you're not doing either of you any favors

DATING DONT'S
- Don't be a phoney: this will get you no where. If you pretend that you're someone you're not you'll be found out. Men have feelings too and they hate to be played. So be honest and be yourself. That's the person your date wants to get to know

- Ditch the getaway plan: yes we've all done it! You know when we excuse ourselves to text a friend or organise for a friend half way through the date and say there is an emergency when there's not. Be honest if the date is going dreadfully - just excuse yourself and leave. That way you won't be dodging unwanted phone calls in the days to follow!

- Don't talk about yourself all night. How boring! Be interested in his life - his career, his family, his hobbies and I am sure in turn he will be interested in yours. And don't start getting bitchy on the first date about celebs, companies or politics - they're is nothing worse than hearing a woman bitch all night - how negative!

- Don't feel you have to have sex on the first date. If your comfortable with leaving it with a kiss great - save more for next time. However, if you do decide you would like to have sex with your date - one be safe and two make sure it's for all the right reasons (not that you have drank too much)

- Don't get too intoxicated. Alcohol is great to ease the nerves but don't drink yourself stupid that your become loud, rude and stumble leaving the venue

As much as we like to think we know everything about dating - there is still a lot to learn when it comes to dating. And that goes for both sexes!

RIDDLE ME THIS:
Do you have a dating tip for women?

I would add 'don't talk about your ex'! Oh, and don't mention they've got to pass the whole girlfriend test thing! (hey, there's another post you could do Date Gal!)
4. September 12th 2006 @ 09:29. Date Gal Says:
Ah yes - the famous talking about your ex scenario. Good one Cinico - that will be a seperate post as so many people do this when dating!

And I think also the whole thinking about future plans on the first date! How do you know it's going to end up in marriage and babies when you don't even know each other?
5. September 12th 2006 @ 09:32. Cinico Says:
What about crying after sex....I've heard that's a bit of a turn-off too!
6. September 12th 2006 @ 09:50. Date Gal Says:
Can't say I have ever experienced that one but if a man did that to me - good lordy, I think I would be quite shocked!

Has a gal ever done that to you? How did you respond?
7. September 12th 2006 @ 09:54. Cinico Says:
Since I am actually a girl (and not gay) can't say they have! I do remember a friend telling me about her 'first time' with this one particular guy and it was so great she cried....then wondered why she never heard from him again!
8. September 12th 2006 @ 10:06. Date Gal Says:
Oh I am so sorry - very presumptuous of me! Please forgive me!

Hmmm.. yes I think us gals crying afte sex may scare some guys off. Maybe he thought it was bad (like Grey's Anatomy!!)

Sorry again hun!
9. September 12th 2006 @ 10:12. Cinico Says:
lol - it's cool, you can't tell a persons sex from a photo of a beach and a non-gender name!

I think, after the deed was done, they were just lying there and she started crying, he asked what was wrong, she replied with it was just so perfect and his thoughts immediately went to....OMG, now she's gonna want to marry me!

10. September 12th 2006 @ 10:15. Date Gal Says:
Ha ha - that's classic!!!

Poor lad would have ran to the hills hearing that! Although he should have taken it as a compliment as his ego would have been stroked!!

You can't win with those lads sometimes
11. September 13th 2006 @ 07:10. Threethumbs Says:
