HOT NEW PLACES TO DATE
Gone are the days of picking up at the local pub or hooking up with a friend’s mate – if we want to find the love of our lives, we need to start thinking outside the boring old dating square. As a seriously single Melbourne girl who’s done dating to death and come up with a big fat zero, I decided it was time to find out where all the hot single men and women are hiding.
BINGO
Okay, so I am not going out of my mind or nor am I so desperate that I have to date a 70 year old with a blue rinse. Bingo is actually becoming the new night spot for the young folk. It's a chance to catch up with your buddies, have a feed and some beverages, win some cash and prizes and who knows even take home a guy or gal. Either check out your local RSL or a lot bars have bingo nights like Candy Bar in Melbourne(www.candybar.com.au) who have drag bingo on a Monday night. Two drag queens put on a show and read out the numbers as you drink the night away and mingle with hot singles!
COCKTAIL CREATION
Hands up who has mulled over the idea of going speed dating, but finds the whole idea smacks a little too much of desperados? But, when all your friends are coupled off and the only available guys or gals at work just aren’t lighting your fire, organised singles events might be the answer.
Cocktail creation is the new way to date for the cosmopolitan girl. Not only do you get to date 12 professional single guys in a few hours, you learn a few bar tricks in the process – and who doesn’t love a cocktail? To find out the nearest Cocktail Creation event near you check out (www.fastimpressions.com.au/cocktailcreation)
THE SINGLES BOOK CLUB
A book club might not be the first place you’d rush off to in your fave outfit looking for a hot date. But if you’re looking for a strong, sensitive type of guy or gal, they are the new place to hang out looking gorgeous and available. Check out the National Library of Australia website (www.nla.gov.au) for your nearest book club or why not organise your own. Get 5 of your best single buddies together and get them to bring along a single mate. Before you know it you'll be sipping champagne, talking about your fav books and who knows, maybe meeting the love of your life!
