Internet Dating - to click or not to click?
Being a single girl in a big city, and having exhausted all opportunities of meeting the man of my dreams through the most common channels (school, uni, work, friends of friends, friends of family, other social connections etc) I decided to enter the world of internet dating.
It took a long time before I made the decision to sign up as I just kept asking myself so many questions over and over and over again - what would people say if they knew we met on the net? What would they think? What did I think of meeting someone online? In the end I just thought...stuff it. As long as you meet the person of your dreams, why should it matter how you meet them?
So I signed up.
Turns out, it is really surprisingly hard to write a profile about yourself, trying to sell yourself to the opposite sex! I spent ages sitting there thinking about what to write. What would actually make someone want to click on my profile, nevermind actually take it one further and want to contact me?
Eventually I settled on something, and set off having a search around the site to see what was on offer.
The best thing I found about internet dating, is that it's just like window shopping! Don't fancy the look of someone? Then just flick to the next! And repeat again. And again. And again. And helloooo there cutie! I stumbled upon Mr A. (to be honest, I can't actually remember his name now, but for simplicity's sake, let's just stick with Mr A!)
He looked cute, was in the army, and had the sort of physique that just made you want to run up and give him a great big hug!! He was slightly younger, but so what - age is just a number. So after a few emails back and forth, after a week we decided to meet....
