Monogamy overrated?

When Jude Law cheated on the goregous Sienna Miller our hearts went out to her - Jude was declared a cheating rat and Sienna was the poor innocent victim.

The couple have been on and off over the last few years and been linked with various lovers making you think are they truly in love in that they keep coming back to each other or do they have a problem with monogamy?

Sienna Miller in recent days has shed some light on her relationship with Jude with quite startling remarks.

She has been reported to have told Rolling Stone magazine: "Mongamy is a weird thing to me. It's over-rated because, let's face it, we're all f****** animals."

Doesn't make her look so innocent now does it? Monogamy - overrated?? Wow what a shocking statement!

Yes there are cheaters in the world in which the word monogamy is not in their vocab - but there are many of us who cherish a good relationship and this sort of remark by Sienna is somewhat disturbing to us?

Are the days of true love gone? Are we like what Sienna says - animals who can't keep out hands off just one person, we need to have an abundance?

Is monogamy dead?

Interesting one isnt it, I guess it depends on what your moral values are and what you want out of life. If the person in question is happy to have multiple partners, then so be it on the proviso that whoever they are getting involved with is aware of the situation. Personally I dont see the point of being with more than one person, doesnt make u happy in the long-term, your not content or fulfilled- monogamy definitely isnt overrated. By the way, like the new banner, anyone ever tell you you look a lot like Betty Boop?lol

I have a friend who has an open relationship with her husband. I don't judge her for it but I just couldn't let my husband go off and have relations with other women. It would be like swinging... I would get jealous and not enjoy the experience knowing someone else was pleasing my husband!

I guess I've never tried so I can't knock it.. personally it's not my thing though!

Personally I wouldnt agree to it, if you loved someone that much and they wanted to have an open relationship then I guess you would be questioning do they really feel as strongly about you as you do them, and really the relationship wont last in the end

I don't think monogamy is over-rated. My boyfriend and I have been dating for four years, and we see no end in sight. People do a lot of "unnatural" things: like playing the piano or writing a blog. Why should we blame our lack of interest in one partner on being "natural"?
