Funerals - The New Place to Pick Up?

A friend of mine, Stacey recently went to a funeral of an ex lover's. He died tragically and even though Stacey and her lover ended on bad terms she still felt compelled to attend the funeral.

Although funeral's aren't the most enjoyable events, Stacey did however manage to see the positive side of it all.

You see - as Stacey entered the church she was bewildered by the number of hot men in suits who had attended. She didn't realise her ex love had so many good looking friends - why hadn't she met them all before?

So instead of grieving and saying her final farewells, Stacey practiced the art of flriting with every eligible man in that church. The flick of the hair, the pretend weeping, the several applications of lip gloss to draw attention to her lips and even so far as going to weeping in the arms of the hot guy beside her when they lowered the coffin into the grave.

Most of you would be disgusted however apparenlty picking up at a funeral is a common practice theses days.

Look at Sex and the City when Charlotte picked up a hot bloke who had visited his wife's grave with flowers.

Or Wedding Crashers, when Will Ferrell''s character made a practice of going to funeral's of unknown people to pick up chicks!

RIDDLE ME THIS: IS IT MORALLY ACCEPTABLE TO PICK UP AT A FUNERAL?

As long as you are subtle I think it's OK. I would still feel awkward asking for someone's number though. I guess it also depends on what the wake was like (if there was one). Some wakes are intentionally quite fun in which case it would be a bit easier.

Good point Jon!

Usually wakes are a happening affair so it might be ok to get to know someone but maybe going for the pash in the corner may not be suitable???

I think it all comes down to who the funeral was for. For example, if it was your grandmother then yeah, a grope in a darkened corner probably wouldn't be looked upon favourably and you might find yourself haunted by a disgruntled ghost for a while. If the funeral was for someone who could see the funny things in life, loved a good party and would have done it themselves...then no problem!

Great point Cinico - who knows, you may meet the love of your life at the funeral

Has anyone else met someone at a funeral or dare I say... had an intimate moment with another griever?

...Your friend Stacey is shameless!

Though, it is a gathering of peoples you don't usually associate with and while being emotional, contemplating life, affirming your values and whatnot it actually makes a lot of sense to find someone else you can relate to and find an ear or even a shoulder to turn to.

Yes Stace is a treasure but I guess makes the most of her opportunities.
For the record... she did find true love so I guess with a negative comes a positive!

Your text goes hereYour text goes here This reminds me of something I read. A girl attends her mothers funeral and meets a gorgeous looking guy at the funeral who she hasn't met before. She then murders her sister a week later no one knows why. Do you?

Honestly, could you imagine being manipulated like that?

You think you've met a caring, sympathetic person when all you've really met is an uncaring, pathetic individual. I'm not even going to mention her pretend weeping at a funeral, in the arms of the hot guy beside her.

I often wonder if women have any self respect these days. Life is about being true to yourself, not hooking up with all the hot guys.

PS. I am female
