Date GalSingles Parties Revealed!
The Single Scene has never been so alive than right now! Everywhere you look, dating agencies are advertising events, online dating and of course the good ole singles party!
Some of you may think that a single's party is for desperate, old men and women who clearly can't get a date so they have to go to a party to meet more desperate people!
Well you're wrong! I've been to two now and they are probably two of my best parties I have ever been to. They are run by Fast Impressions in most states in Australia and they are usually themed (i.e. Moulin Rouge, Playboy Mansion, etc).
Saturday night it was an Ibiza Nights theme so we all decked our wonderful colours and planned to party the night away. At the start of the night the girls are given a lock and the blokes a key! The point of the night is to see who's key unlocks who's lock (as modelled by my friend Liz, she was very successful)! When you do get a match, you go to the bar, get a shot and who know's, even swap digits!
The crowd is mostly busy professionals aged 25 - 35, they come with friends and everyone is very well presented! There's lots of fun and games to be had - pole dancing (as illustrated by my friend Christine), dares involving kissing and dancing and heaps of prizes to giveaway to willing participants.
All in all it was a pretty successful night - we met some fabulous men, swapped digits with a few and just danced the night away.
So if you're single and wanting to get out on the dating scene, get a group of mates together and head along to a party! Hey - not only do you have a fun night out, you might even score a few dates!

Fast Impressions comes across as pretty well-organised too, not quite my thing (at this age!) but their events look pretty slick.

Hmm well see DateGal, might be moving soon for another journalism position and havent exactly been in the mood for partying lately with work and a loss in the family.
They have events for older people as well! It's quite good fun and they're speed dating events also give you a chance to learn a new skill like salsa dancing or cocktail making!
The locks and keys are quite corny but great ice breakers! I think I lost mine ten minutes into the night - I don't need a lock to break the ice!
As for the single girls - well maybe you guys have to lift your game and try and impress these girls. He he or maybe girls these days are just too picky?

And to give you the heads up - there are more blokes your age than 25 - 35's so the older ladies are going younger!!! Doing a Demi Moore!

Well there is a man drought with men in their 30s but apparently there are more men than women in their 20s so perhaps you need to do a Demi Moore???
Yeah, get out there and try some of the singles events! It's great fun and you do meet a stack of great men!
Or perhaps try dating in some unusual kind of places- they actually have single car wash events, casinos singles nights and hey, perhaps we should have an Orble Singles Party (good suggestion TonyK)!
Most importantly, just have fun!

Just get some friends together and plan it like a night out on the town more than going to a singles party!
Then all you have to do is have fun, have a dance and a few drinks and guys will be coming to you!
The key is not to treat it like a singles party - sure everyone is single but trust me, the guys approach the girls who aren't going around asking every bloke to try their key, rather the girls who are just there to have a good time!
