Women on a mission: are successful women intimidating?
...or are we only intimidating to insecure men?
Situation 1: a moderately attractive woman with a reasonable job, opinions of her own and hey - maybe even a sense of humour thrown in for good measure.
Situation 2: a moderately attractive guy with a reasonable job, opinions of his own and hey, we'll throw in the sense of humour here as well.
What is the difference in the above scenarios?? Everything! I have never once heard a girlfriend call a guy intimidating. Yet over and over again, I hear guys call girls intimidating, because they're successful. Why??
I met a guy at a wedding once who told me I was everything he looked for in a woman (still not sure whether to gag or whether I should be flattered) and yet he still called me intimidating. I don't get it. Does he actually want an intimidating woman?? Or is it that I/she/whoever is actually everything that a guy might be looking for, but they're too insecure in their own lives and with their own achievements and therefore they're intimidated?
I would have thought a successful, attractive woman is something the majority of guys would want in their partner (those days where the wife spends her time at home in the kitchen are long gone!) but maybe it just takes a real man who is comfortable in his own skin and with what he has made of himself to fully appreciate us.
